STRUGGLING WITH DAMAGED HAIR?
Are you someone who is struggling to repair damage and grow your hair out? I’m going to help you with a few of my best tips to help that out:
⚡️Always use a heat protectant spray or cream. bonus points for one without waxes/silicones. don’t ever apply heat without one!
⚡️ While we’re on the subject of heat, turn it down. heat is one of the worst things for your hair, so if you’re going to use it, be careful.
⚡️ Baby, baby baby the heck out of your end! Even if you think you’re doing it already, baby them even more. Very gentle combing, use a detangler, don’t force anything through tangles, gentle scrubbing and drying after the shower, and always use a leave-in conditioner for extra protection and hydration. both dry hair and wet hair can easily snap.
⚡️ silk pillowcase. silk cap when sleeping if your hair is extra fine and prone to breakage. silk scrunchies. throw away small, tight hair ties. microfiber towels. always use a wide tooth comb or wet brush.
⚡️ Frequent trims are also very key!
⚡️ quality hair products. the wrong ones can and do easily suffocate your scalp with build up over time. imagine pouring wax and tar on your fresh green grass and expecting it to grow! Aggressive I know but seriously stop treating your scalp like it doesn’t matter because it’s covered with hair. Take care of it like you take care of your skin.
⚡️ Take your vitamins! And also, drinking collagen or a collagen builder is great for hair and skin. Good vitamins for growth? B, D, E, omega fatty acids, zinc. Immune support vitamin has everything in this one tiny capsule! I never miss a day anymore. Look good, and feel good from the inside out.
⚡️ Stop bleaching your hair if it’s already dried and damaged. Give it a rest! Try to apply frequent oil treatments (like monat’s Rejuveniqe oil). This oil will begin to heal the hair from the inside out. I love using this on the ends of my hair morning and night.
⚡️ Last my new favourite in shower wash routine with the brand new damage line. 3 steps in shower and 4th step finish off with styling. Step 1 :Damage Repair Bond Support Shampoo Step 2: Damage Repair Bond Building Treatment Step 3: Damage Repair Bond Support Masque Step 4: Damage Repair Bond-Fortifying Hair Leave-in Creme (if your hair is only slightly damaged you can get away with skipping step 3- for more intense damage use all 4).
and hey— give it time. don’t be impatient. consistency wins every time!
Just remember, it took years to damage it, it will absolutely take longer than a month to see progress.
