THE MUSTARD SEED THRIFT SHOP
A BOUTIQUE STYLE THRIFT STORE EVERYONE NEEDS TO CHECK OUT!
The Mustard Seed Thrift Store has opened in the Highlands area at 6527 118 Avenue in Edmonton, AB. If you haven't heard, it's a boutique thrift store with a great mix of brand new and very gently used clothing, home goods, decor, accessories, work wear, shoes and outdoor gear priced at some of the lowest prices you'll find in town.
There are a few things that separate this thrift store from ones you’ve seen or been to before. First and foremost, there’s the aesthetic: it's a bright, airy, clean and contemporary space that has a trendy, boutique feel. There’s nothing like walking into a store and taking in all the beautiful things you see around you to set the tone for the experience you’re about to have. Another quality that makes it different is its mission. This store aims to provide a dignified shopping experience to everyone who comes in--regardless of their income, social status, job or which part of town they're from. They want everyone to feel the joy of shopping in a beautiful space without feeling like they don't "belong" or can't afford to be there. Lastly, this space will serve as a future training grounds for individuals going through The Mustard Seed's employment program. Their goal is to allow those seeking retail experience to work in the store for a number of weeks to gain experience and train with dedicated mentors who will help them cultivate customer service, sales, communication and relationship-building skills. The Mustard Seed truly believes that creative initiatives like these have a great impact in helping our community move towards a life of wellness and independence!
SHOP THIS LOOK!
I shopped around the Thrift Shop and put together some really cute outfits! Spring looks, date night, work wear and casual. A good mix for everyone (see below for what I found). Most items in the store are $20 and under! Brands from Forever 21, Michael Kors, Homesense, Guess + many more! They had a great setup at the front of the shop with cute home decor/accessories and also a kids clothing and toy section! Tons of mens items and a very large women’s section! This is exactly what our city needed and I am so happy I was able to experience and share it with you all. Definitely check it out if you’re local! I love that the mustard seed has put together a work program through this store to allow someone in need to experience retail and client interaction to get them on their feet again and in hopes of them getting a future job in retail! I can’t say enough good things about my experience at the Mustard Seed Thrift Store!
How adorable is this skirt and Michael Kors purse
I paired this black dress with this cozy tunic black sweater!
Leather jeans, leopard top, cutest bag! All items in store!
This same black dress I shared above but with a purple knit sweater!
Obsessed with these skirts! These will be popular this summer for sure.

The Mustard Seed Thrift Shop still needs your help! They still have some necessary renovations and repairs to complete in the store to make it fully operational. To sweeten the deal, they’ve curated a number of perks from local businesses who support them and have also included tax receipts for all perk donations!
