Kade's Nursery Reveal

WELCOME TO THE CRIB

The Baby Crib…

Happy Monday! I am so excited to share Kade’s nursery with you all! For those of you who are new around here and not familiar with our pregnancy, I will link that post here.

Once we found out we were pregnant for the second time around, we debated finding out the gender, but ultimately decided to find out at our 20 week appointment because we were way to excited to find out. We had a gender reveal at the local race track in Edmonton with all our friends and family there. For the first round of elimations our good friends tied ribbon in the parachute of their race car and didn’t tell anyone (not even us) and we were too surprised and thrilled to see those blue ribbons fly out!

As far as the nursery design, I knew I wanted to keep things neutral and add pops of gold here and there! Ultimately, I wanted to create a calming, serene space that him and I could feel relaxed in during his first year of life. We know this isn’t our forever home, and will most likely be moving in a year or two!

I hope this serves as inspiration for those of you who may be expecting! I have linked everything I possibly can- some items were purchased from Ikea/Home Sense and I was unable to link.

The one wall color is a shiny black colour and the rest of the walls are an off white colour.

The next thing I wanted to share was the newest baby monitor “THE MIKU SMART BABY MONITOR” we just set up in Kade’s room! The installation process is so simple. Once I had it set up I immediately downloaded the app and started using it. This camera tracks breathing rate, temperature, humidity, movement and sound. Any time there is movement or the sound, the live recording is stored away into the nightime activity folder. There is also two-way talk, music and sounds, nighttime vision and Wi-Fi connection. Kade is not sleeping in his room alone yet (another month or two) but if your baby begins crying at night, Miku sends an alarm to let you know your baby has woken up! It also tracks when they fall back asleep. It’s really neat that you can also access the analytics from the night/nap times and see sleep quality, wake/sleep times, and total duration. I can feel comfortable leaving Kade with his grandparents or a sitter as I can easily turn the camera on or off right from the app from anywhere in the world. I can’t say enough good things about this Miku baby monitor and am very excited to use it once Kade is sleeping in his room more! (Also I have a cover for the wires so they will be hidden - I just didn’t get a chance to get those up yet and I really wanted to share this blog post).

The larger furniture pieces including the crib, cabinet, glider + ottoman, acrylic book shelves, area rug and floor lamp were all purchased from Pottery Barn Kids, Wayfair, Ruggables, and Amazon. I included the link for each below:

I am so in love the way this space turned out and I know our little man will love it too! I’ve been soaking in all the time with him and rocking in his glider daily. 🙂 For now, he is sleeping in our room in a bassinet, but in the next two months we will transition him to his crib. I love that this space is so calming and cozy and that it can easily be used for a baby of either gender.

I hope this post was helpful to those of you who may be designing a nursery- if you have any questions, feel free to message me in a comment below! As always, thank you for reading and sharing -A
