It doesnt matter how good of a product you have or how good you’re at sales if you dont have some sort of audience who is tuning in daily and likes to follow what you’re doing everyday! People who love watching your crazy little wild life you live.
I am going to walk you through 4 steps to captivate your audience!
We dont try to captivate! The effort of trying to hold attention is repellent. Captivating is an energy, it’s a vibe and a beautiful gift when you just show up as you. It’s that feeling of talking to a friend or family member.
We hurry up and be comfortable being who the “F” we are! This is the secret to everything. This is why the inner work, the podcasts, the books are so important. You want to unlock this beautiful side of you. Learn more about yourself and stop caring so much what others think about you. Step into it and allow yourself to shine and the right people can’t miss or avoid and the wrong people will miss. No matter the way you were created, down to your dimples, your mental health, your family, you were given experiences both good and bad on purpose made to shape you into the human you were meant to be right now in this world. There is a reason for why you talk the way you do, you like the things you like, the things you dislike, there is a reason why you want to travel to certain places and its all added up on purpose. There is a reason you started your business and a reason to grow a business online, so it doesn’t make sense to get yourself to this point with the life you were given, the experiences you were given and the DNA you were given to then go online and be someone different! Think about it for a second. The more that you don’t let yourself be fully you and show up with any kind of mask, this will dim your energetic flow. It could be so much easier! If you’re not repelling people, it means we probably aren’t doing a great job attracting people and being to vanilla by not being ourselves. To have a successful business and to be captivating to be making sales it doesn’t mean you have to be over the top. You want people to be like “what is she up to today? what is she wearing? what is she going to share?”
WE ARE NOT MEANT TO BE LIKED BY EVERYONE ON THIS PLANET. THE NEXT TROLL OR HATER YOU GET, PAT YOURSELF ON THE BACK, REMEMBER YOU’RE ON THE RIGHT TRACK AND KEEP MOVING.
3. Set the vibe that you would also want to follow aesthetically. There is a strategy to this and a strategy to the fonts you use, the way your profile looks, the filters you use. If things haven’t clicked in terms of sales for you in your business then try this step. As women, we are more picky as to what catches our eye and who we follow. Aesthetics do matter, and this doesn’t mean it needs to be the most beautiful setup but just set the vibe that you would want to follow. The things that you like and are attracted to, your same people are going to be attracted to that as well. It also help you to stand out because there are alot of competition out there, and people selling the same products or business models. You being you, that is your god given differentiator and pour some gasoline on the fire with the aesthetic vibe that suits you.
4. Round out the conversations so you don’t bore people to death, but then so you also get higher views on the thing you’re interested in, which is your business. Be intentional about rounding out the conversation. Our businesses need sales, but we also have to understand that not everyone is as obsessed with our business and things related to our business as we are, and that is okay! It doesn’t mean they don’t need it. For an example, you’re following two people who are doing the same business and you’re intrigued and you’re interested in purchasing one day but not like tomorrow. So you pop on the one story of the girl and its all just business business business. K cool, next person! The next person is now sharing her business, but then also is telling stories about her crazy day and what happened to her and now i’m invested and I need to hear what happened, then she takes me on her grocery haul and I get some ideas, and now i’m excited to see what she’s going to share tomorro, and because I watched her story to the end, her little story bubble is going to pop up on my feed more regularly for me.
We are alot more than our business, and our kids, or our spouse. We bring a lot to the table. Pay attention to the things that you like to scroll. It’s not ground breaking! A cool YouTube clip, funny meme, recipe to share, a new nail visit, a new restaurant you tried out. It’s captivating and seeing life through someone else’s lens, is captivating. If you’re having a hard time holding peoples attention, TRY THAT! You don’t have to not talk about your business, but just round It out and talk about other things also.
Just talk about the things you’re genuinely interested in right now and what you’re doing!
